LSU Mock Trial for Juvenile Justice Reform

On April 10, the LSU Law Trial Advocacy Board will host the first ever Student v. Faculty Trial Competition in the LSU Law Robinson Courtroom at 7pm to raise money and awareness for Families and Friends of Louisiana’s Incarcerated Children, a local non-profit organization which works throughout the state for juvenile justice reform. Professor Brooks, Professor Devlin, Professor Smith, and Professor Barry will be taking on Charles Watkins, Stephen Magyar, Ryan Chenevert and Lauren Anderson in the case of Krista Chacona Harbour v. Southern Comfort Life Insurance. The competition will be presided over by the Honorable Brian Jackson of the US District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana. The jury will be made up of students, faculty, and community members.

A wine and cheese reception will take place beforehand in the Student Lounge starting at 6:30pm. Admission is $5 per person, all the proceeds of which will go directly to FFLIC. Additional donations are accepted and appreciated.
